Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

4kadam is an invite-only social activity network operated from Faridabad, Haryana, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian law.

2. What we collect

• Phone number — used to create and secure your account via one-time password (OTP). It is our only login identifier; we do not use passwords or email login.
• Profile details — your name and optional profile photo.
• Contacts (with your explicit consent) — if you choose to allow contact access, we match phone numbers against existing members to help you find friends. We do not upload or store your full address book, and you can use the app without granting this permission.
• Activity data — plans you put your hand up for, attendance, deposit status, and activity results such as lap times, so the app can function and show relevant plans and leaderboards to your network.
• Device data — basic technical information (device model, OS version, crash logs) to keep the app working reliably.

3. How we use it

We use your data solely to operate 4kadam: authenticating you, showing plans from your trusted network, coordinating activities, and improving app reliability. We do not sell your personal data. We do not show you third-party advertising. Plans and profile details are visible only to people inside your invite network — never publicly.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers required to run the product (cloud hosting and database, SMS/OTP delivery, UPI payment collection), each bound to process data only on our instructions.

Plan coordination. When you put your hand up for a plan, our coordinator contacts you and the other members on WhatsApp to organise it. They see your name and phone number for that plan, and messages there are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy. Where we book on your behalf, we share only the group size and first names with the venue — never your phone number without telling you.

If we ever share aggregate, non-identifying statistics with activity venues (for example, group sizes), it will never include your personal details.

5. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where a longer period is required by law.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may access a summary of your data, correct inaccurate data, withdraw consent, request erasure, and nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf. To exercise any of these, or to raise a grievance, contact us at the address below. We will respond within the timelines prescribed by law.

7. Children

4kadam is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will notify you in the app before the changes take effect. The date below always reflects the latest version.
